Get ready for the largest, most widespread coordinated pro-life outreach ever!

More than 200 cities in 45 American states, 5 Canadian provinces ... plus Denmark ... are poised to launch 40 Days for Life campaigns.

"There will be campaigns in at least 212 communites," said David Bereit, 40 Days for Life's national director. "Last fall's campaign was conducted in 177 cities. This shows that support for the pro-life message is spreading — and that 40 Days for Life continues to have a positive international impact."

The list of fall locations is now available. Please check it, see if your city is listed, and click on the city's link for additional information about your local 40 Days for Life campaign.

FROM THE BLOG:

The Day 1 devotional begins with the words of Scripture, “Blow the trumpet in Zion!” Well, the trumpet has sounded and the fall 40 Days for Life campaign has officially begun.

These next 40 days will be an awesome journey as, together, we embark on the largest single coordinated pro-life mission ever conducted.

Tens of thousands of people across 212 cities are uniting in this prayerful effort — as well as countless others in places from coast to coast who will be praying from their homes and churches — imploring God to end the scourge of abortion.

For this effort to have grown to such an amazing size  — and to have already saved 1,561 children from abortion over the last two years — is, to me, proof that this is God’s work.

HE is the answer to this crisis of abortion, so let’s pray harder than we’ve ever prayed before!

And speaking of blowing the trumpet, I can’t help but mention how effectively many of the local 40 Days for Life campaigns are “tooting their horns” about this effort. Media outlets across the country are buzzing with news reports about this fall’s campaign.

trading my marathon to walk for a CAUSE: to STOP Child Trafficking

betheANSWER.join.the.movement

...because i can't run....           i will WALK
to STOP CHILD TRAFFICKING

You might know that I have been training for the Scotia Bank Marathon since May of this year.  I went into my training knowing that I might not make it to race day due to my knee condition.  Although this was a reality, I focused on my goal and gave it my best shot...about 4 weeks ago, I began to have major problems with my right calf/shin, to the point of not being able to walk at times.  I took off ten days to rest and recover and found that the recovery was not happening as fast as I had hoped and that I might have to reconsider training for a different marathon.

Last week I officially had to decide that for my health I would have to stand down from my race on September 27th.  While trying to process this DIFFICULT reality, I came across a walk for a cause: A walk to STOP CHILD TRAFFICKING. September 26-27 weekend, thousands of people across Canada and The United States will be walking throughout cities to raise awareness and stop child trafficking; although I can't run my marathon on September 27th, I can walk to stop child trafficking!

Since I only found out about this walk last week, I am only registered to raise $200 (I am just happy that I was still able to register to walk!).  If you would like to donate to help stop child trafficking and the sexual expolitation of children in Canada, you are still able to donate by clicking here

There are other ways to contribute to the end of child trafficking--it starts by becoming aware, becoming educated on the issue and then becoming a voice.  I have enclosed some awesome links below that just begin to touch on human trafficking in Canada.  These links also provide information on what is being done in our government to put an end to the trafficking of people.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or comments
Thank you for your support.

*I would also like to take the opportunity to thank my Marathon Pace Group through the Running Room in Oakville.  They have been a MASSIVE source of encouragement and support for me, all through my training over these past months and especially in these last few weeks as I have been trying to deal with the hard decision of not running this marathon.  THANK YOU GUYS!!

NEVER BEFORE HAS THERE BEEN A
MOVEMENT OF THIS KIND....
History will be made on the weekend of September 26-27, 2009, as individuals, corporations, religious organizations, communities and student groups come from all over to participate in the inaugural Stop Child Trafficking Now WALK! This global event is slated to attract thousands of people who will walk throughout the world, while raising funds and broadening awareness for Stop Child Trafficking Now!

betheANSWER-getting started

betheANSWER is about taking change one step further- rather than just voting for change-it is becoming that.
betheANSWER seeks to have a voice for the silenced, taking a stand against injustice.
As Gandhi said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world."
betheANSWER is action driven.

We become the answer to our own prayers. Instead of praying that people in Kenya get clean water, we GET UP, and figure out away to provide clean water. We become a part of the solution--a part of the answer.

the product is us-you and me: start today to change tomorrow.

it does not take much to become aware of the injustice that is taking place in our cities, in our country and in our world; but it is not enough to just offer our prayers- we need to take a stand, be a voice, and join the movement of action- to see change in this generation.

get educated on the issues of injustice, then make others aware of the injustice that is taking place- and then get involved- it doesn't not need to be some massive-just something.

it does not take much effort to change the world.

it starts with
one
person
at a time
you

invite friends to join this blog- a great way to spread the word and receive updates regarding issues of injustice around our world, and also how you can get involved to help.

"when you change one person's life you have changed the world-their world."

we are blessed to be a blessing!
